The musical and social legacies of Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone remain as relevant as ever. Their contributions resonate with today’s artists across many genres, as all three women defied social norms, embracing self-empowerment through their art.

Produced by Grammy-winning Eli Wolf and with arrangements by pianist and musical director Carmen Staaf, this exciting performance features three dynamic vocalists. Each a rising star in her own right, all three are known for regular appearances at Jazz and Lincoln Center and other esteemed New York City venues. Presented in affiliation with the Women in Jazz Organization and backed by an all-female band, Wade, Clayton and Gould celebrate the enduring legacies of Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone with performances of their classic songs.

A $1 historic preservation fee will be added to each ticket to help maintain The Sheldon for future generations.
