This concert, originally scheduled for April 29, 2020 at The Sheldon, has been rescheduled to Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 8 p.m. and will stream live on The Sheldon’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

Current ticket holders: If you would like to attend the live in-person event, you do not need to do anything at this time. New tickets and entry information will be sent to you before the concert via e-mail (or mail if no e-mail on file). Those who are not able to attend the rescheduled date are eligible to request a refund at the original point of purchase, but are asked to consider donating the cost of their tickets to the non-profit Sheldon Arts Foundation. Refunds should be requested by midnight on March 16 at 314-533-9900 ext. 19 or at Marketing@thesheldon.org

Symphony cellist Bjorn Ranheim honors the legacy of Pablo Casals, known for his riveting performances, his teaching of students from around the world, and his inspiration of important composers. Hear music from Bach’s Unaccompanied Cello Suites, the traditional Spanish Song of the Bird, and the Cantilena from Golterman’s Cello Concerto. The program also explores music by other great cellist composers throughout time, including the Italian master, Luigi Boccherini.
