Youth Programs

The Sheldon’s Youth Programs are performing ensembles that give St. Louis students the opportunity to hone their musical talent.

Showcasing the best young musicians in St. Louis, The Sheldon’s North County Big Band, led by Harvey Lockhart, and The Sheldon’s City of Music All-Star Chorus, led by Maria A. Ellis, provide students with invaluable skills that prepare them for their futures—no matter what their dreams may be.

Though the 20-21 school year will unfold differently, the ensembles generally perform twice-yearly at The Sheldon, as well as throughout the school year at special events and for community partners. Rehearsals for both ensembles take place on Monday nights at The Sheldon, and will resume when deemed safe to do so, with dinner and transportation provided to participating students.

For the fall 20-21 semester, rehearsals and auditions will take place virtually. Future plans will be evaluated based on the safety and health of students.
