A protege of Hamiett Bluiett and mentored by local legends like Willie Akins and Mae Wheeler, Kendrick's roots run deep in the jazz tradition. His soulful playing and fierce improvisation have earned him features in The St. Louis American, New York Times, and on stages from Jazz at the Bistro to Smalls in NYC. As founder of Build A Yes, a dynamic jazz music society, Kendrick curates festivals, leads educational initiatives, and amplifies local talent. He's the visionary behind Truly Reeds, a specialty reed and mouthpiece company, and creator of Jazz Culture magazine.
