Nashville Live at The Sheldon: The Lonely Fighters

The Sheldon and Stellar Gigs are pleased to present “Nashville Live at The Sheldon,” a showcase for Nashville’s emerging artists and hit songwriters. Formerly “Nashville Live in Grand Center,” the series has presented numerous artists in intimate venues throughout the Grand Center Arts District, recreating the unique up-close and personal musical experiences found in the small venues of Nashville, where contemporary country stars hone their craft as they strive to make it in the business.
Singer/songwriters Claire Wyndham and Chris Roberts blend seamless harmonies with an authenticity that harkens back to the classic 1970s West Coast sounds of Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles and John Denver. Their debut album, set to release in February 2022, includes timeless songs suffused with emotion and hope for the future.
Claire Wyndham’s musical travels have taken her all over the map. Literally. Australian born and raised, after graduating high school she spent a few years traveling the world with nothing but a guitar and a backpack, before eventually landing in Nashville, TN. A multi-instrumentalist, she spent time writing country songs and working with other artists, even touring as guitarist for a major artist, before feeling free enough to come back to her familiar process, forgetting genre, forgetting rules, and just writing and singing what was true to her. Though her songwriting craft has been influenced by living in the country music capital, you’ll never hear the twang of a banjo or fiddle. Instead, her music ranges from dark, driving, epic tracks, to beautiful ethereal ballads, and she never shies away from “telling it like it is.” Her lyrics are heart wrenching and vulnerable, then empowered and strong, delivered with buttery vocals that can make you feel like she’s whispering her darkest secrets in your ear, or yelling her anger across a crowded room.
Chris Roberts is as humorous as he is musically talented, with a contagious zest for life. He is a respected songwriter with two critically acclaimed albums to his credit. He’s worked with the likes of Julie Roberts, Ashley McBryde, Love and Theft and The Swon Brothers, had songs placed on ABC and CMT’s Nashville in addition to other television and film credits. Roberts has shared the stage with artists such as Willie Nelson, Jimmy Buffet, Dave Mathews and Neil Young, and has appeared in several Broadway productions. He was also part of the vocal trio One Flew South, which signed a record deal with Decca/Universal Records and a publishing deal with Sony/ATV. Their songs have been praised in the music industry as unparalleled and the single “My Kind of Beautiful” climbed the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.
