The Sheldon’s All-Star Chorus

Showcasing the best young musicians in St. Louis, The Sheldon’s All-Star Chorus, led by Maria A. Ellis, provides students with invaluable skills that prepare them for their futures—no matter what their dreams may be.

The ensemble generally performs twice-yearly at The Sheldon, as well as throughout the school year at special events and for community partners. Rehearsals take place on Monday nights at The Sheldon with dinner and transportation provided to participating students.

The Sheldon’s All-Star Chorus is Underwritten by the Arthur and Helen Baer Foundation and sponsored by many other generous donors.

The Sheldon is pleased to announce that the All-Star Chorus will take a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Carnegie Hall in June 2023. Chorus conductor Maria A. Ellis will serve as guest conductor for the concert at the storied venue, leading Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass with the New England Symphonic Ensemble.

The Sheldon’s All-Star Chorus

The Sheldon’s All-Star Chorus auditions are in-person! Led by Maria A. Ellis, high school students from throughout the St. Louis region are invited to audition for this all-star, select chorus.

Auditions for the spring semester (beginning January 9) are open now. Schedule an audition appointment by submitting the form below.

Students should prepare an audition song of their choice

Open to 9th-12th grade students.

Tenors and basses needed now! Sopranos and altos will be auditioned in January.
