2019-2020 Year in Review

Though the 2019-2020 season was unexpectedly cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic in March, there was much to celebrate in executive director Peter Palermo’s first full year at the helm.

The season kicked off with the grand opening of Steward Family Plaza on the west side of The Sheldon, including the official unveiling of a 208-foot long, three-story high vertical garden, celebrated with a concert by Missouri-native and jazz legend, David Sanborn. With sculpture, greenspace, welcoming benches and a walkway connecting The Sheldon to Public Media Commons to the south, Steward Family Plaza has become a place where people rest, reflect, gather and stroll!

After this a wonderful, celebratory beginning, the season continued with more world-class concerts, art exhibits, education programs and community events than ever before. Keep scrolling to learn more about the unforgettable 19-20 season at The Sheldon!
