If you’ve been to a Sheldon concert, gallery opening or special event in the past two decades, chances are you’ve encountered (and most likely been photographed by!) our longtime house photographer Ray Marklin. For over 22 years, and over the course of 654 events (yes, he counted) Marklin has captured the magical moments, big and small, that tell The Sheldon’s story.

A visual artist in his own right, Marklin’s work has been exhibited at the Sheldon Art Galleries, in 2001, 2007 and again in 2013.

Here, Sheldon Art Galleries Manager Paula Lincoln has curated a dozen of Marklin’s most iconic concert photographs as we celebrate Ray’s well-earned retirement.
